Exploring Art's Standards Based Art Education allows anyone to be a proficient art teacher. By teaching all of the Art Lessons and Additional Activities provided in each grade level binder you will have met all State and National Visual Arts Standards.
Many of the Visual Arts Standards can not be covered by an art lesson alone. We have designed several Additional Activities that fully cover ALL of the State and National Visual Arts Standards for each grade level. For example, students are required to critique, compare and contrast, and analyze artwork. We have provided online resources and activity worksheets that allow students to complete these activities either in class or at home.
This self critique allows students to take a look at their own artwork, learn vocabulary, and positively discuss their work.
We have also aligned our curriculum program with the Essential Learnings for Language Arts. This allows teachers to easily cover Language Arts Standards that relate to the art lessons being taught. Some of the activities include informational, creative, and poetry writing.
Every Curriculum binder comes with a rubric that allows the teacher to grade each student's performance. The rubric is not based on artistic abilities. It is based on the learning process and the techniques used.
Exploring Art is the ONLY art curriculum program that covers ALL State and National Visual Arts Standards.
